Newton Nexus

Shadley Associates was the lead site designer for Newton Nexus, a 143,000 SF mixed use development along Needham Street in the heart of Newton.  Developed by Crosspoint Associates with architects HFA, the project includes tenants such as TJ Maxx, Boston Ballet, Boston Ski and Tennis, a neighborhood market, several restaurants and retailers including upscale fashion and an outdoor/recreational retailer. Shadley Associates developed the universally accessible site design which includes extensive parking layout and sidewalk improvements, an integrated signage program, walls, gates, railings, an arbor, site furnishings, planting, and a lighting sculpture installation.  The project is on an MBTA bus line, welcomes electric vehicles with charging stations, and hosts rental bikes.  Outdoor seating areas are distributed around the site for store employees and customers to enjoy. Construction was completed in 2019.
