Shadley Associates is working with a multidisciplinary team at Rivergreen, a new mixed-use development in Everett, MA. When complete, the site will be comprised of new office and industrial buildings, a new municipal park with active recreation, and a new public Riverwalk along the Malden River. A new Overlook with a shade shelter, seating, walls, lighting and planting divides the Riverwalk into north and south halves and is under construction.
In the 1940’s the site housed a large GE factory that made jet airplane engineers for World War II and closed in 1989. As a vacant brownfield site, the contaminated soils posed risks for human use. The development project will cap and clean these soils, open this site to safe public use and provide an active and passive recreation amenity on the Malden River in Everett.
