UMass Boston HarborWalk

Curbed Boston

August 2, 2016

UMass Boston's new HarborWalk completes the public walkway around the Columbia Point peninsula by constructing the "missing link" of 800 feet between the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum, and Old Harbor Park. With site improvements designed by Shadley Associates, the project installed 3,200 tons of shoreline protection stone, including a significant number of granite blocks unearthed during the Big Dig and donated by MassDOT. The project creates a new paved walkway with lighting, native plants, bench seating, and an area to display artwork. The project was named Boston's 9th best waterfront park by Curbed Boston.
