
JP Shadley, FASLA, Principal
JP Shadley, FASLA, is a Principal and Director of the firm and leads many of its large scale, noteworthy projects. He has over thirty years of landscape architectural experience on a wide range of project types such as open space analysis and planning, urban design, streetscape design, park design, historic landscapes, tourism landscapes, corporate and institutional landscapes, museums and visitors centers, and residential estates. Many of his projects are Brownfields and waterfront developments, and sustainable design is a cornerstone of his work. Mr. Shadley brings to his role a wealth of experience in planning and implementing many complex projects with competing interests. His projects often include wide community involvement and extensive public participation. Mr. Shadley is a past President of the Boston Society of Landscape Architects and he represented the BSLA on the Mayor’s Central Artery Completion Task Force, providing design review for the parks that have transformed downtown Boston. Previously, JP was with two of Boston’s premier landscape architectural firms. For ten years he was with Carol R Johnson Associates, where he was a Principal, Stockholder, and Principal in Charge of the Marketing department. At CRJA, Mr. Shadley authored and oversaw projects which won ten major awards. Prior to joining CRJA, Mr. Shadley was with the Halvorson Company for six years, where he was an Associate and Project Manager responsible for all phases of landscape architectural development. Mr. Shadley holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Oregon and a Masters in Landscape Architecture from Harvard University.
